A flash mob project

So me and group of us were watching the Muppet's last night and there was this one song I said would be so much fun to have a flash mob at a convention. So I started jotting down ideas for it. I even made two different versions of it. Please note that this is a quick write down of it, just so you get the idea. Probably a few messy places cause I'm trying to write all these ideas before I forget.

Used this version for time reference.

The Hallway, around the Convention Area Version
This version is like a traditional flash mob, where people break into dance out in public space.

[0:00-0:26] Start off with only two people. These two will be the leads.
[0:27-0:45] Walter solo means only one person is dancing/"singing". Look around the crowd confused, scared, uncertain. Could end this sequence with the person pretending to fall into the crowd toward a set of people who are actually part of the mob. They will catch them and then join in for next sequence.
[0:46-0:52] Those dancers become background dancers. All "actors" that show up will become background dancers.
[0:53-1:00] Another set of dancers join in.

[1:01-1:03] A pretend photographer shows up at the "paint" part, and a cosplayer for the "pose". They join the group afterwards. Background dancers, step in place for this sequence and the next few ones.
[1:04-1:06] A person with a con guide book will show up for "pedal" and someone else will show up to stop them from walking into the mob at "brake". They join the background dancers afterwards, stepping in place still.
[1:07-1:09] One person points at someone else at "see", another person points back at "saw". Demonstrate finding friends/guests at cons. They join the background dancers afterwards, still stepping in place.
[1:10-1:13] Break out of stepping and go into formation for the next dance sequence.
[1:14-1:30] Dance and moving at the same time, try to spread the crowd out a bit more to make space. Stop moving around "Nothing that I can't be" around 1:27 and get ready to start stepping in place again.

[1:31-1:33] Three people involved. Someone pays a "vendor" money at "give". A third person comes in to still the paying person's purse/wallet at "take". Both vendor and buyer chase the thief into the background dancers. They will not join the dance, but disappear into the crowd. They will be re-occurring actors.
[1:35-1:37] A person sprays the crowd with febreeze at "someone to wash". Another person fans the crowd with a paper fan at "someone to dry" (cause people get hot in a crowded convention). They join the dancers in the back.
[1:38-1:40] Someone with a supposedly heavy backpack is about to fall over but someone comes in to help them "share the load". They join the dancers afterwards.
[1:41-1:43] Two more con-goers, one with a bottler of water to give to another person with food at "stir", while the person with food, like a meal bar offers at "stir". They join the dancers.
[1:44-1:47] Someone falls down from exhaustion, sprain ankle or whatever. someone else comes in to "lend a hand". They join the dancers afterwards. Filet of Fish members need to get ready to walk into their part here.
[1:48-1:50] Romantic couple shows up with the guy offering the girl flowers. This can be a gay or lesbian couple too. Don't care as long as it's made obvious they're a couple. They join the dancers too.
[1:51-1:53] Music is cut off. The people part of the Filet of fish will yell out "Life's a Filet of Fish Ey!" for this sequence from just outside the mob, within the crowd. They will be walking through the crowd when they say this and continue to pass by the mob. They will not be joining the dancers at this part. Dancers need to stop dancing at this part, look confuse and shrug when Walter and Gary say "uh, yes it is".
[1:54-1:58] Everyone goes back to dancing and get into formation for the next dance sequence. Again pushing the crowd back as we have more dancers. When I mean push, I mean just move towards them but not touching them. Crowds will know when they need to move back for something on their own.

[1:59-2:30] Dance number. At 2:19 the Filet of fish members will join the group.
[2:31-2:35] Music stops. Dancers stop. The thief from before will sing the "RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME" part. Everyone will look to the thief who has the vendor and buyer have captured him. The thief will also do the "sorry, super excited".

[2:36-3:30] Completely cut out of the sequence. Not necessary.

[3:31-3:48] Theif, vendor and buyer will now join the dancers for the final dance number. The rest of the mob can join in at anytime for this. Probably in groups and they have to count to a certain number until they can join in.
[3:49-4:02] March in place. More people will continue to join in. If you want, pull in a crowd member.

[4:03]
"Life's a Happy song" <- Everytime this comes up, a section of the dancers will dance.
"When there someone by your side to sing" <-Dancers stop momentarily and someone will say this line.
[4:07-4:08] At the second "When there someone by your side to sing", the music will stop and everyone in the mob will point to the crowd and say the line.
[4:09-4:17] finale sequence. Everyone in mob dance. When it's over, everyone disperse back into the crowd.

Cosplay Contest Version. Within one room
A version for more confine space, like a room with a seated audience and stage. Dancers will be sitting within the audience and stand at their part.

[0:00-0:26] Start off with only two people on stage. These two will be the leads.
[0:27-0:45] Walter solo means only one person is dancing/"singing". Look around at the crowd confused, scared, uncertain. They'll walk off the stage to look for someone. They end up falling towards a group of people who turn out to be part of the dancers.
[0:46-0:52] Those dancers become background dancers and join the leads on the stage. All other "actors" that show up will dance in the audience.
[0:53-1:00] Another set of dancers stand in the audience and dance in place.

--All "Actors" will stand at their part, do the action toward the person they're suppose to do it with while staying in place, and then dance in place until stated otherwise----

[1:01-1:03] A pretend photographer stands up at the "paint" part, and a cosplayer for the "pose". Background dancers, step in place for this sequence and the next few ones. The next two should be ready with their part while this sequence is going.
[1:04-1:06] A person with a con guide book will walk around the audience for "pedal" and someone else will be with them to stop them from walking into the audience at "brake". They move to either side of the room and start to step in place.
[1:07-1:09] One person stands and points at someone else at "see", another person stands and points back at "saw". Demonstrate finding friends/guests at cons. They will step in place.
[1:10-1:13] Break out of stepping and go into formation for the next dance sequence. Dancers in the audience will move to either side of the room for the next sequence. If there's a clear center lane, they can go there too.
[1:14-1:30] Dance number basically. Be ready to step in place at "Nothing that I can't be" around 1:27. The thief, vendor and buyer should be in position during this.

--Most of these actors need to be ready while the previous sequence is still going, they may have to seat themselves near the outside or not be seated and just looming around until it's their part--

[1:31-1:33] Three people involved. Someone pays a "vendor" money at "give". A third person comes in to still the paying person's purse/wallet at "take". Both vendor and buyer chase the thief into the background dancers. They will not join the dance, but chase the thief around the audience. They can do whatever they want for the time being. They can interact with the audience or the dancers if they've finished their sequences.
[1:35-1:37] A person sprays the crowd with febreeze at "someone to wash". Another person fans the crowd with a paper fan at "someone to dry" (cause people get hot in a crowded convention). They move to either side of the room afterwards and step in place.
[1:38-1:40] Someone with a supposedly heavy backpack is about to fall over but someone comes in to help them "share the load". They go to either side of the room as well afterwards.
[1:41-1:43] Two more con-goers, one with a bottler of water to give to another person with food at "stir", while the person with food, like a meal bar offers at "stir". These two can be seated in the audience and will step in place afterwards.
[1:44-1:47] Someone falls down from exhaustion, sprain ankle or whatever. someone else comes in to "lend a hand".
[1:48-1:50] Romantic couple shows up with the guy offering the girl flowers. This can be a gay or lesbian couple too. Don't care as long as it's made obvious they're a couple. They join the dancers too. These two can be seated in the audience and step in place afterwards.

[1:51-1:53] Music is cut off. The people part of the Filet of fish will yell out "Life's a Filet of Fish Ey!" for this sequence from somewhere in the audience. They should be all seated together. They will not be joining the dancers at this part. Dancers need to stop dancing at this part, look confuse and shrug when Walter and Gary say "uh, yes it is".
[1:54-1:58] Everyone goes back to dancing and get into formation for the next dance sequence. Meaning everyone who is still in the audience should move to either side of the room. The Filet of fish members will join the group.

[1:59-2:30] Dance number. At 2:19 mob members in various locations in the audience will stand and dance in place. Thief, Vendor and buyer should be ready during this.
[2:31-2:35] Music stops. Dancers stop. The thief from before will sing the "RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME" part. Where ever he may be. Everyone will look to the thief who has the vendor and buyer have captured him. The thief will also do the "sorry, super excited".

[2:36-3:30] Completely cut out of the sequence. Not necessary.

[3:31-3:48] Thief, vendor and buyer will now join the dancers for the final dance number. Along with anyone else in the crowd that are already standing. The rest of the mob can join in at anytime for this. Probably in groups and they have to count to a certain number until they can join in. They will dance in place until the marching sequence.
[3:49-4:02] The Actors will move to the stage, the people in the audience still will move to either side of the room. Just Dancers will stay on either side of the room.

[4:03]
"Life's a Happy song" <- Everytime this comes up, one section of the dancers will dance.

----------------------------------------------------------

I'd love to try and run something like this, but there's so many things that needs to be done in the pre-planning and I'm only one person. We'd have to make all the dance sequences for each group, rehearse to know when our cue is. I mean I thought about giving people the track so they can have it playing and when they hear the beep or something that's their cue to go in. Even then that's a whole bunch of versions of the same song you need to record over and over and change just slightly in each one. A part of me wants to try and think of other things to implement the Convention culture, like furries, maybe even have one of the guest take a role.

One can dream at least, because this really is a nice song to have a flash mob to. Or at least try with a smaller group.
